What is the difference between the Extended drivers (X) and Native drivers (V)? |

In addition to its native support for hundreds of "native" LABELVIEW printer drivers (drivers written specifically for LABELVIEW), LABELVIEW 7.02 also includes the entire TEKLYNX family of drivers.
The TEKLYNX drivers, also referred to as the "extended" driver set, provide support for hundreds of additional printers. Developed for use with TEKLYNX label design software, these drivers allow you to take advantage of the powerful capabilities of your printer.
To view a list of all available printer drivers in the LABELVIEW software:
- On the File menu, click Select Printer.
- Click the Install button.
The Install Printer Drivers dialog box appears.
- Click the Native drivers-(V) and Extended drivers-(X) check boxes to view all available drivers.
Depending on your printer, there may be both a native LABELVIEW driver and a TEKLYNX driver for the same printer model, designated in the program with a "(V)" for native LABELVIEW drivers or an "(X)" for the extended TEKLYNX drivers.
We recommend trying the TEKLYNX/extended driver first as this will be the driver of the future for TEKLYNX products globally. In some cases the LABELVIEW/native driver may work best for your application, if that’s the case use it.
TEKLYNX will continue to support both groups of drivers now and in the future.
